Applications

Intermediate for peptide synthesis (solution-phase) - Widely used as a protected amino acid intermediate for fragment condensation and solution-phase peptide synthesis (LPPS).
C-terminal protected building block - Suitable for preparing peptide fragments with a protected C-terminal, preventing undesired reactions at the carboxyl group.
Side-chain protection for threonine - The tBu protection on the side-chain hydroxyl group effectively prevents O-acylation and side reactions during coupling steps.
Used to prepare activated esters or derivatives - Can be converted into activated esters (e.g., NHS/PNP esters) for downstream coupling in peptide fragment synthesis.
Used in semi-synthesis or modification of peptides - Enables selective extension or modification at the N-terminus while keeping the C-terminal and side chain protected.
